A rift in the sales department of Zong has affected the revenue and recovery of the company very badly and it is expected that in the coming days it will further worsen the situation if not dealt properly.
Since the start in April 2008, Zong has grown from 0.6 million customers from (inherited from old Paktel) to 7 million active customers within two years and especially at the time when ARPU is very low and industry conditions are not viable for a speedy growth. But the ongoing dispute and a desire to get a higher position is shaking the company internally at its very early stage.
According to sources, Mr. Ali Kamran heads the Sales and Distribution channels at Zong and he has established a good reputation within the industry. Mr. Usman Ishaq who works under the leadership of Mr. Kamran supervises the sales activity in the Central 1 region as Director Sales and Distribution. Somehow Mr. Ishaq, using illegal and unethical means, has convinced his supporters who are among the highest management of Zong to remove Mr. Kamran from that position and give him a charge of a newly created position as Director Postpaid which is much smaller than the earlier profile just because Mr. Ishaq desires to see himself as head of Sales and Distribution of Zong. He has also managed to circulate this news of his new appointment across the company.
Sources further reveal that Mr. Ishaq has been doing similar leg pulling and politics at Mobilink and Warid in the past. He always finds his likeminded people. Performance wise he has always capitalized on his juniors’ performances. An interesting thing to his credit at Zong in its initial days is, he awarded couple of junior staff members with “Best Sales Performers Certificates” who belonged to Paktel and just after one week fired them without any reasons.
As per plans the position vacant by Mr. Ishaq will be filled by Mr. Amir Siraj who was laid off from Mobilink few months back.
If merits are observed then, Regional Directors of South and Central 2 are performing much better than Mr. Ishaq. ApanTime.com talked to Mr. Quin Li, CEO of Zong. When asked about any such changes in the company, he denied and said “No, there are no changes taking place in the company and no such thing will happen”.

& surely Usman Ishaq has the same level of leadership.. I’m a strong suporter of both & wont bear with any such gossips neithr for Ali Kamran nor for Usman Ishaq..

I’m admirable for both Ali Kamran as well as Usman Ishaq. Both are great leaders.
Ali Kamran no doubt gave splendid performance during his time; he took the organization from 0 to this stage. And where’s its related to firing old folk, I’m strongly with Ali Kamran just to kick out all the old Paktelians, who previously had drowned this company as Paktel and these dump brains are still part of Zong. They really don’t deserve working in this organization, old folk is good for gov. type organization.
Ali Kamran you are the best with great visions to lead even more bigger organization, I wish you all the best for your future, you are not demoted but you have done your great Job..

Although I was not directly reporting to Mr. Usman but know him very well he is great performer and warid added Millions of subscribers in record time just because of his team building leader ship and consistent performance. We all should pray for Zong & for Mr Usman progress becoz this is the base of Pak & China frienship..
and these kind of news always circulate against the perfect peoples but this is bad thing when people like Ali Kamran used pothatic & unfair means.
