CIO-IDG and Google are proud to announce the date of Pakistan’s 1st Annual Blog Awards and New Media UnConference, presented by Nokia and sponsored by DELL, on the evening of the Friday 28th May 2010 at the Kohinoor Convention Center, Regent Plaza, Karachi. The awards are the first of their kind and have been selected by 10,000 unique votes for 207 nominee blogs (Pakistan content only) over the last 3 months.
The strategic Media Partners include Dawn News, Radio1 and FM 89, Digispace, Synergiser, BrandSynario, and Demotix (an international photoblogging news media site – demotix.com), Cafe HeadLion and OPEN Silicon Valley. Other sponsors include Canon and Supernet alongside Commtel Soft.
The event will showcase winners from across 30 categories. Judges include professionals linked with Columbia University, UNICEF, The Future Foundation USA and Harvard University amongst others. There will also be special awards for Brand Managers, Digital Agencies and Marketing Campaigns who have done commendable online work in the world of New Media and Branding.
The New Media UnConference, structured across the evening, includes sessions on Innovation in Media, Selling 3.0 and Convergence. People from the blogosphere, CXOs from digital agencies, Heads of Digital Media departments in Advertising Agencies, Digital Media practitioners, Media Planners, Program Heads at channels, Brand Managers will find the evening not only informative but also inclusive with key personalities from entertainment, technology and marketing world also attending the event.
