CIO Pakistan carries out various events catering to industry leaders as well as many generic events which targets varies stakeholders. This time of the year, CIO benefited a wide array of stakeholders by putting together an event known as “Campus Conversations’10” which was kicked off on March 17th 2010.The stakeholders included pertinent leaders from the industry, the academia and the students.
The first CIO Campus Conversations’10 was held at FAST University successfully. The primary motive of the event was to bring together the students and the academia to discuss their career prospects.
The idea was to enable them to devise strategies to make informed decisions. It is of utmost importance to educate the students to resolve issues in the facet of gazillion challenges that they encounter. These challenges are a result of changing business dynamics and progression of technology.
The event comprised of various sessions including a brief introduction of the speakers, CIO Pakistan team and sponsors. This followed a series of presentations and discussions. Guest Speakers included Jehan Ara – PASHA (President), Asher Zaidi – Intel (Country Manager), Rahim Lalani – TRG (CEO), Yusuf Jan – Mixit (CEO), Danish Nafay – National Foods (Assistant Manager SBS) and Ms. Rabia Garib who was moderating the discussion.Guest speakers were brought in by PASHA and TiE. Booths were setup by the sponsors including DELL and TRG, DELL being the main sponsor for the event.
CIO Pakistan has been pioneer in carrying out such an activity in Pakistan. With anticipation that this endeavor would pave way to bridge the communication gap between students and faculty members.
This in effect will help them move upwards on the learning curve and accomplish their desired goals. Universities that confirmed their participation for Campus Conversations’10 includes GREENWICH, KU, IBA, FAST, NED, LUMS, IoBM, SZABIST, SSUET, PAF KEIT, HAMDARD and MAJU etc.
