FBR directed to lodge FIR against Dancom

Dancom, one of the LDI license holders in Pakistan, has been found guilty of tax evasion to the amount of Rs. 140 million by the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of National Assembly headed by Chaudhary Nisar Ali.

The committee ordered Federal Board of Revenue to lodge an FIR against the company officials involved in the fraud and remove the then audit officials Nadir Khan Hoti immediately who served as collector of Federal Excise Islamabad in 2005 and illegally allowed the remission of sales tax of Rs. 140 million to Dancom.

Dancom owes Rs. 1.2 billion to Pakistan Telecommunication Authority as well for which a case is in process in the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

The PAC also asked Chairman PTA, Dr. Muhammad Yasin to cancel the license of Dancom if there is any need.

PAC also directed CDA to not to allow the transition of property which is owned by the wife of Mohammad Luqman till the company gets itself cleared.

Other defaulters in this category are, World Call Communication (Rs. 133.900 million), Global Telecom (Rs. 59.66 million) and Union Communication (Rs. 3.66 million).

    it is not just telecom companies, we as a nation does not bother to pay our own country. the whole nation has so much money and when it comes to paying the authorities, we never do it. sorry state…poor people.
