Warid continues to hurt it employees once again. Just two days back company changed the status of hundreds of its permanent employees at the call center in Karachi from permanent to contractual. Similar action has been taken in Lahore based call center as well. By doing this, no call center employee will be eligible for the benefits (allowances) a regular employee enjoys.
An employee from the call center confirmed that company has planned to do the same with customer care department as well. In both the departments, only the hardworking CSRs or the grade M1 employees are being victimized whereas expensive managers will continue to have same benefits and are permanent.
Company is taking cost cutting measures very rapidly and aggressively perhaps it wants to make it a viable entity from the buyer’s perspective. It also shifted its very prominent Customer Services Center which was located at Clifton Karachi to some place at Khayaban-e-Tanzeem. The rental amount of new property is Rs. 3.6 Million against the earlier of Rs. 14.3 Million. Any layman can multiply the earlier rental amount with the number of months Clifton property was used. This huge amount could have been saved from the very start and used to avoid any such possible condition for the benefits of its own employees.
Ahmed Kamal, GM, Customer Services and Umer Arshad, Head of Quality have already left the company sensing a tough time ahead.
Just recently, company also lost some 2800 customers of LESCO who ported to Telenor because the Oslo based company was anxiously working day and night to have a contract established with LESCO for their EasyPaisa product, they must have offered some good package. Warid couldn’t do much to secure those customers. In my last story I mentioned the ignorance of customer care people which threatened another 17000 data SIMs. It is again allowing that customer to move away from Warid due to the very same reason. I’ve just heard that a senior official called a meeting today to satisfy this specific customer otherwise resignations from the concerned people may be asked in case of failure.
Why things are getting worst at Warid and why people are not paying attention is not understandable. A source closed to the operations confirmed that “all these issues and loopholes had been highlighted by Ex-GM Sales Mr. Naveed Saeed before he left the company and every issue is arising as he had told but the management never took them seriously”.
Time has passed now, but still Warid can save a lot by designing and implementing policies in such a way that will minimize the effects of low income and high cost.

Well you will notice more frequent changes in warid as per my dear source in warid has confirmed that Telenor will take over warid in coming next few days , and according to my source telennor has asked warid to cut its employee base to 50 percent and on the other side telenor has stopped the hiring process as now they have to accomodtae warid employess.
@Faisal, and the sad part is the are asking lower grade employees to sacrifice, however, cut in one management staff can save many in lower grade employees but the management is the one who takes decission that’s why it is always noted that targets are non-manegerials staffs.
If we notice most of the call centre employees are doing this tough job only to support their families or to save some money for their studies. Call centre jobs are very tough especially in nights, you have to be very attentive to receive heat from the public and at the end this gift for your motivation.huu..
NAYA CSC TO MILNA MUSHKIL HA. warid nay apnay employees ko bhi update nahi kiya address sahi tarha say.
@Nazakat this is the mission, one way is that you ask them to leave at once, second is you create an atmosphere where people find the place bad to survive.
aaahhh!!!
Ali, you are right. but sad part is the needy employees are getting laid off and in this period of economic disturbance these employees are taking care of their family members, if they are terminated and leave the job as an indirect way of termination, how they will support their families. our government is already busy with its bulshit. why decision makers at such multinationals do not plan thing and always do the lavish expenditure and when time comes to cut the cost their first choice is “GET RID OF EMPLOYEES”. They will be asked for this.
Without strong, satisfied and motivated people in place your business will not grow to its potential.
If Warid has planned to destroy its business slowly and gradully then who can stop them. First loosing big customer and now demotivating employees, how these acts can make a company successful in this cut-throught competetive market.
By this how Warid will retain its staff at call centers?
