Leading analyst firm, Gartner has positioned Oracle in the Leaders quadrant of “Magic Quadrant for Web Access Management” for 2009.
The Gartner Magic Quadrant, a graphical representation of a marketplace at and for a specific time period, positions vendors within a particular segment based on completeness of vision and their ability to execute on that vision. It depicts Gartner’s analysis of how certain vendors measure against criteria for that marketplace, as defined by Gartner.
“Enterprises increasingly depend on a complex mix of Web-based applications and Internet services to successfully run their businesses,” said Amit Jasuja, Vice President, Oracle Identity Management. “With best-in-class Web access management, enterprises not only have quick access to the growing Web application universe, but also streamlined and protected enterprise security. We believe our placement in the Leaders quadrant demonstrates Oracle’s commitment to deliver flexible, integrated and easy-to-use solutions that enterprises around the world trust to manage their enterprise security.”
According to Gartner, “The leaders in the WAM [Web Access Management] market for 2009 have matured, with larger vendors offering relatively strong products at reasonable prices, investing in new associated functionality and ‘complete identity management’ strategies that leverage their customer bases for increased sales and market share.
The leaders have experienced continued strong growth year over year, while almost every other entrant in the Magic Quadrant has experienced slower growth or no growth, or is working from a significantly smaller customer base.
To lead in the WAM and larger access management markets in 2009 and beyond, vendors will need to focus on providing a full-featured product, the necessary organizational skill set, deployment scenarios and expertise, and recommendations as to how individual customers can best use their products in their broader IAM initiatives. ”
