Some gadgets totally recourse the development and the trends in the cyber world. Same goes true for the iPhone. This sleek and state of the art gadget which is infact a phone developed by Apple Inc has totally redirected the cell phone industry.
Recently I got a podcast on my iphone in which it was mentioned that there are some defense companies which are establishing platforms to help soldiers to use their iphones in a more positive manner. A renowned US Defense contractor Raytheon is reportedly creating a series of apps for the iPhone to help soldiers during military operations. One such app is called One Force Tracker and it uses GPS and cellular networks to provide real time tactical information along with updating maps of enemy combatants as well as friendly troops.
According to Raytheon. Jay Smart, CTO for Raytheon’s Intelligence and information systems comments:
“because building software for the [iPhone] was cheaper and simpler than some of the expensive options specifically designed for military use.”
So the use of phones are not only limited to merely for texting and phone calls, it is finding its application in every aspect.
