[Press Release]Nortel’s Carrier VoIP and Application Solutions (CVAS) has been named VoIP Network Vendor of the Year in the Telecom Asia Readers’ Choice Awards. This recognition reinforces Nortel’s long-standing leadership in the global carrier VoIP and softswitch market, a position Nortel has maintained since 2002, according to industry analyst firm Dell’Oro Group.
Nortel CVAS received the VoIP Network Vendor of the Year award for its industry-leading Carrier VoIP portfolio, which has been successfully deployed by leading service providers worldwide to help generate new revenue streams, improve subscriber loyalty, and reduce network costs.
Telecom Asia Readers’ Choice Awards recognize the technology innovations and contributions to the industry made by top telecommunications vendors operating across Asia. Nominations for 22 categories were open to analysts, consultants and high-level telco executives in September. A total of 56 telecom insiders submitted more than 1,150 nominations.

All three leading analyst firms’ recently published reports rank Nortel as the global leader with the largest revenues in the carrier IP market for the third quarter of 2009.
