Nokia closing its stores in New York and Chicago

Nokia has decided to close its two flagship stores in New York and Chicago as a part of global retail strategy.

Nokia is struggling in North America’s markets as it has face rivals like Apple and Samsung who have got the strongest market in US. Nokia has also signaled that it will focus on application and software for mobile phones, plus it will launch few phones next year and it will also upgrade its Symbian OS in its future phones.

Nokia currently has 12 stores worldwide with a 37% global market share in handsets.

    It is very hard to see the fall of a giant like Nokia but i hope that Nokia will be in better shape next year and it will not fire any more people(not to mention the people losing jobs in its New York and Chicago stores). I hope to see some better Smartphones from Nokia soon!
