Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif has said on Facebook that the agreement for purchasing 100,000 laptops for the brilliant students of province has been signed. According to him, the first shipment of laptops will arrive before the end of January 2012. These will be 14inch Dell laptops with 320GB Hard Disk, 2GB 3DDR Memory and 14 inch screen. Government of Punjab will provide 15 Months Warranty with every laptop.
Apart from this, the other details regarding the agreement’s cost, duration and terms have not been disclosed. But Mian Shahbaz Sharif has said to disclose the further details within next few days.
The free laptops offer has already gotten overwhelming response from students. Apart from my criticism on this scheme that I did due to the heavy prices of laptops, I have seen many such students that did not score good marks during their last semesters or annual examinations but now they are doing hard work in study in the hope of getting a similar offer from the Punjab Government next year. If you are a student who have scored enough marks to be eligible for this offer, but you have not applied up till now for the free laptop scheme, then dont’ waste time and visit the website http://youth.punjab.gov.pk in order to register your name, the registration will continue till 31st December. Besides, if any problems you face in registration then you should inform the CM Punjab at his Facebook page whose address is https://www.facebook.com/Sharif.Shehbaz.

sir, i scored 975 mrx in fsc(pre med) n in the list regarding board, there is no room for fsc students..they’re just having general science and humanities group..n also many universities hav sent the list of their 1st prof students on the basis of fsc, part 2 result..why is it so? its totally unfair..

This distribution of laptop will start from January 26, 2012.
we are already registered but after 30th december the old list replaced with the new one are w getting or not ,then if we are not eligible for that criteria why thecall us and tell us that we are deserving ones and get it free aftr the completion of registeration

i am student of fatimah jinnah university ,but after 30th december, the list on the webpage for registeration is differnet or replaced with the previous one, already write several times but write again either we get it or not or both of the listed or the replaced one got it?please sir inform us we will be great full.it is not the matter of selection of students but they replace the whole list please investigate sir? this is not the student fault but the university fault please investigate………..
sit the previous list, i didnt have any kind of list but we simply saw my name and regestered my name but for the update i following websites your and shehbaz shrif website but on the registeration list where the student name was listed, i only visit there ,and there is no name of the previously listed students,please sir its my request,i like to know either we get it or not?

Did you tell CM about this problem at his Facebook page? If not then tell him now because we have noted in past that CM directs the authorities to resolve public complaints registered on his Facebook page.

Rahila, you are right in your blame but perhaps you do not know that Shahbaz Sharif has already ordered the education officials to make a bill so that free laptops can also be given to the evening students. Please explore Apnatime to get further details in this regard.

Be calm, Shahbaz Sharif ordered to add evening classes students into free laptop distribution scheme, it is likely that the last date for submission of applications be extended to a week. We had informed you earlier about this part a few days ago, perhaps you did not read that story.

Well, if your numbers are good enough to apply then your names must be sent. So please add your complaint at CM’s Facebook page, it is a serious matter as you said that the registrar of a renown university is not abiding by his duties.

Please apply for the scheme at its relevant place, you must be registered for this scheme if you want to get laptop. Your marks are good and I hope you will come into the criteria set by CM for this scheme.

Could you plz clarify between morning and evening students. I’m a student of Mphil in Public sec uni and there is only one shift i.e from 2 on wards. I would like to know if i’m eligible for this scheme as this is the time table provided by our uni.
Our university admin is saying that you have sent them a letter in which this is mentioned that evening students are not eligible???
You are eligible, tell your university registrar that even the evening students of private university are eligible to apply for this offer. sir you have replied in above comments that evening students are eligible for getting laptops but our bahauddin zakariya university administration and registrar are saying that evening students are not eligible and this is mentioned on the website. so my question is that why you are not selecting evening students while we have got admission in the university on open merit basis. The university as well as teaching faculty is same for morning and evening students then why there is discrimination in awarding laptops?

There is no mention of Morning or Evening in the Criteria, so you can also apply for the laptops.

All post graduate students (Part I & II) of 2 year Masters Degree Programme, who have secured 60% or above marks (in the previous year) in case of annual examination system OR 70% or above marks (in the previous semester) in case of semester system

Kashif, Shahbaz Sharif will not take care of your request at first. You need to contact the board people and if they do not listen to you then you will have to send application to our beloved Shahbaz Sharif. It would be better to deal with the Board people
